If you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you arrive?
Having a destination in mind is crucial to literary success. You can’t just say, “I’m going to write a book.” Those are just words.
One of Steven Covey’s Seven Steps of Highly Effective People is begin with the end in mind–kind of like planning a trip.
Everything you see was an idea in someone’s mind. They had a vision–the end in mind–then they put in on paper and reverse engineered. In other words, they started with the end in mind and determined how they would accomplish their goal.
Here’s a question for you–if money were no object, where do you want to be in three, five and ten years? You’re going to be somewhere so you may as well be where you want to be.
This is a basic principle and it applies to every aspect of your life.
Change something today to make your tomorrow better.
